Well - we almost got to Salisbury today. Plans of shopping and doing a walk with my camera round the city ...... but we didn't make it. We went to Wilton Shopping Village first and I bought everything I was looking for there.
I got a lovely black suit, loads of tops, a pair of trousers, a dress, a jacket, and .... most amazing of all .... I bought the most perfect ballgown ever.
When I came home I then sorted my wardrobe out. Took me two hours because I had to try everything on. I filled three more bin liners (making a total of 10 altogether now) with clothes i can no longer wear. It was actually very sad as there were some real trewasured items that went.
But I now have much emptier wardrobes full of clothes I can weara dn which look good. Don't sizes vary though. From the same store today I bought a top size 10 (No ... I am not kidding myself it is not a proper size 10 but none the less it says size 10) and a top size 16. The black suit was an interesting deal. I loved the jacket - the cut was beautiful and very flattering and I was goingt o buy it anyway, but they said I got a free skirt. It was a skirt I would never have looked at - much shorter and very very straight. Not sure I have the guts to wear it but I have it anyway.
Yesterday I finally got round to making the recipe box I have been wanting to make for a while. The idea is to fill it with recipes that Nij can make which are low calorie, healthy and .... most importantly, something he can cook.
I bought the box for 50p from the market. It was a really sturdy box - I assume once had cards in - from the V and A but was damaged on the corners. That didn't matter because it was just the shape I wanted and covering it would reinforce the corners anyway.
This is what it looked like to begin with

I used Cosmo Cricket papers and chose the colours because I didn't want to cover the inside. They matched the inside perfectly.
This is how it turned out in the end.

My quote for today is

Another one I really like.
Today I am thankful for
- My beautiful new clothes
- My sorted wardrobes
- The fact that it is Monday and I was not at work!
Finally I hope you enjoy this e mail I received from Anita

KNOW THE SYMPTOMS.....PLEASE READ!
Thank goodness there's a name for this disorder. Somehow I feel better even though I have it!!
Recently, I was diagnosed with A.A.A.D.D. -Age Activated Attention Deficit Disorder. This is how it manifests:
I decide to water my garden. As I turn on the hose in the driveway, I look over at my car and decide it needs washing. As I start toward the shed for the hose pipe etc,
I notice letters in the mail box.
I decide to go through the mail before I wash the car. I lay my car keys on the table,
Put the junk mail in the little recycle bin under the table, And notice that the bin is full so need to take it out to the green recycle box.
So, I decide to put the bills back on the table and take out the rubbish first. But then I think, since I'm going to be near the mailbox when I take out the rubbish anyway, I may as well pay the bills first.
I take my cheque book off the table, and see that there is only one cheque left. My extra cheque's are in my desk in the lounge, so I go inside the house to the desk where I find the can of Coke I'd been drinking.
I'm going to look for my cheque, but first I need to push the coke aside so that I don't accidentally knock it over. The Coke is getting warm, and I decide to put it in the refrigerator to keep it cold.
As I head toward the kitchen with the Coke, a vase of flowers on the counter catches my eye--they need water.
I put the Coke on the counter and discover my reading glasses that I've been searching for all morning. I decide I better put them back on my desk, but first I'm going to water the flowers.
I set the glasses back down on the counter, fill a container with water and suddenly
spot the TV remote. Someone left it on the kitchen table.
I realize that tonight when I go to watch TV, I'll be looking for the remote, but I won't remember that it's on the kitchen table, so I decide to put it back in the den where it belongs, but first I'll water the flowers.
I pour some water in the flowers, but quite a bit of it spills on the floor. So, I set the remote back on the table, get some towels and wipe up the spill. Then, I head down the hall trying to remember what I was planning to do.
At the end of the day:
The car isn't washed
The bills aren't paid
There is a warm can of Coke sitting on the counter
The flowers don't have enough water,
There is still only 1 cheque in my cheque book,
I can't find the remote,
I can't find my glasses,
And I don't remember what I did with the car keys.
Then, when I try to figure out why nothing got done today,
I'm really baffled because I know I was busy all day,
And I'm really tired.
I realize this is a serious problem, nd I'll try to get some help for it, but first I'll check my e-mail....
Don't laugh -- if this isn't you yet, your day is coming!!
