A trip out

Nigel whisked me away today as we had disappointing news and I was very  down so he took me to the forest to see the last of the autumn colour

 

 

This was Eyeworth Pond

 

 

and at one point there were 8 bluetits in this tree but I couldn't fit them all in

 

 

Then - well we were half way there- we carried on to Southampton to Ikea and bought new kitchen chairs and then to west Quay. It was lovely.

 

This view - and it is straight out of the camera, not enhanced or altered it was just stunning - was out of the lounge window the other afternoon  and there are also photos of Bracken, Buckley's new mate!

Today I am thankful for

• our NHS again. I wish we were not having to use them so extensively again, but they are marvellous

Let's stick to scrapping

OK - this post is going to be pretty much about scrapping because life hasn't been fab to be honest. Every random illness that could have hit me has hit me, I feel lousy and so let's move on!

 

In happy news we became a great Aunt and Great Uncle yesterday. That sounds awfully grand and awfully old. Our neice delivered a little baby boy very quickly and very safely and we are thrilled for them.

I have been scrapping - slowly - and some bits were made pre-op too. So here we go

Still stupidly hot

I am fed up of this weather - I truly am. So hot and humid. Roll on winter - or Autumn at least please.

The art exhibition went very well and sold a serious amount of my craft fair goodies which thrilled me no end. But it was like an over there too.

I have ventured into a little scrapping - but not for long as the scraproom is too hot.

 

I was really pleased with this page which was for a challenge over at Dotty About Flair and also for challenges at Peartree and UK Scrappers

 

Nigel will wait A LONG TIME for the perfect shot. I don't have the patience.

 

 

 

 

 

 

This was for a challenge at Pear Tree and Twilight crop and crafts and features one of the new flair from the August rebrand and release. Dotty about Flair has a whole new name The Flair Hut, but it's still dotty about flair. The new release is awesome and I was sent some ahead of time as a Design Team member. I have now placed a seriously big order!!!

 

 

 

 

 

 

And I have just finished this one for a scrap squad and a peartree challenge and again I have used one of the brand new flair releases

 

 

 

 

 

 

Today I am thankful for

• a successful exhibition and fantastic sales
• fans (still) and cold showers
• a busy week ahead. we who do nothing much normally have 4 separate lots of visitors coming over this week

Out of the depths

Well I am pleased to report the light is shining brightly at the end of the tunnel/ No not THAT light, the light you don't want to do towards!

We are over the worst and recovering from Covid, however unlike so many people who have said 'oh it's nothing, just a couple of days', we seem to have had a worse version. Maybe it's our extreme age! However, we avoided it for 27 months, we have now had it and apparently this variant gives no immunity - well we do NOT want it again so will again be very cautious. I have never had a cough as persistent and life disturbing. And the lack of sleep just made everything worse.

BUT - onwards and upwards. We are recovered, though I am still tired.

I haven't done a great deal of scrapping I can share - well I have done a lot of scrapping but most of it is for the ATDML cybercrop next weekend, DAF and SAS design team projects.

But I can share this which was for the DAF insta hop on Monday

It used the fabulous sketch from Lisa at Scrap a Sketch and I loved seeing the whole team have a different take on it.

 

The photos were from the Wimborne Folk Festival in June and I love seeing all the people dressed up.

 

The red paper is Vicki Boutin and so are the flowers but they are from the digital collection which I printed and watercoloured.

Lovely day and last evening

I have had a lovely day today.

It didn't begin with a lot of promise but it sure perked up.

Yesterday evening first.

We had seen baby foxes a couple of times at dusk and so last evening we sat our on the balcony, cameras in hand, watching and waiting and we were not disappointed. There are two adults - possibly parents but we are not sure, and at least 4 babies. The babies are quite disparate in size so we are not sure if they are from the same litter. One is tiny - we have named him Indy as he runs and jumps and play and is so cute. They played for about half an our on the heath next to us, our drive and the road and we got a few photos. The photos were hard to get as it was dusk - but it captured the event.

Congratulations Your Majesty and I'm Dotty About Flair!

I am an ardent royalist and proud of it and was glued to the TV this morning watching the Trooping of the Colour.

I don't think anyone does pageantry quite like the UK.

I loved it.

I have also been scrapping but first - I want to share the page made for my very first design team page

Koda is a real Rainbow Cat meaning his moods change so much from timid and scared to outgoing and demanding, from 'don't pick me up' to 'I want to be everywhere with you and on you and in you' So the page celebrated that - oh and those gorgeous flair.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The page started out very different and ended up getting taken apart and re-made but I thought you might like to see the original version. It was too bright, too full, too hectic for me. I am happier with the simpler version.

Kim thank you or your lovely comments and you sked about flair. Yes they are the little round embellishments. Think small badge/buttons without the pins int hem. They do add a bit of bulk but not oo much and they fit very easily into page protectors. Adam, who runs the company, is here in the UK but he has lot of customers int he USA. Several of the new design team are also in America and Canada. The web site is DOTTY ABOUT FLAIR and that should be a clickable link  and there is also a fabulous facebook group called Dotty About Flair full of ideas and such a happy community

 

Exciting News

I am so thrilled I can share my exciting news at last - it has been so hard keeping it quiet.

I am one of the new 2022 Design Team over at Dotty About Flair.

 

I have been a huge fan of flair for a long time now, since Natalie started DAF, and my obsession has gown plus the DAF group on facebook is such a lovely friendly happy and supportive community. I am thrilled to be working with Adam and so many other talented scrappers. It's a whole new thing and I am very excited.

 

 

 

So watch this space.
