Beautiful home town and another class

We are so blessed where we live - we truly are. I love our home town and so often say it. Poole is beautiful but shhhh- don't tell people or everyone will come.

I am also still working on sharing classes I have done for ATDML and have shared almost none of them - because I forgot to to be honest.

Today I am thankful for

• living in Poole - it is so beautiful (though I prefer it in the winter when it is quiet)
• the chance to work with A Trip Down Memory Lane - I am very lucky

 

 

It's that BUSY time of year and a freebie

Still heavily into exam season here and so that sees me back ins choolsas an invigilator. It is easier work really - just deadly boring int he actual exams. 

I like the before when we are setting up. I appear to have become to go to guy for all IT related elements which is fine. I am happy with IT. There is no preparation, no marking and the students are very nice. It's five minutes from home and just about the right amount of work for a retiree who had NO INTENTION os working at all. I do like the being back in a school environemnt.

Today was extra tough though as I was with a single A level student for a German listeninge xam which was 2.5 hours. One student, smnall room and I felt I couldn't keep staring at the poor lad as I didn't want it to be any more intimidating than it already was. I felt I couldn't walk around like we would usually do, or fidget so it was 2.5 hours of looking discreetly at him and doing absolutely nothing else. I thought I would go insane! Ah well. I said I could do it and I did.

We also had a sad day yesterday as it was the funeral of the daughter of a very dear friend of mine. They captured her essence so perfectly in the service and it was a beautiful occasion but it is so wrong that parents should ever have to say faewell to their child. It is simple not right. Our thoughts and prayers are witht he whole family but especially her parents and her brother.

 

I managed to scrap the weeklyc hallenge on UKS last night as I needed some good scrap therapy to take my mind off the events.

Today I am thankful for

• my wonderful husband working so hard to make the garden look fabulous.
• work done for today
• scrapping to relieve the saddness a little - it means I lose myself
• my glaucoma drops not making my vision so blurred - I think I am more used to them now

Take your wife to work days and a freebie

We have had a couple of 'Take your wife to work' days, which has been nice.

Yesterday we had three short jobs to do in Swanage and so Polly went to the seaside.

Proof that I let him drive!!!

 

 

 

Today it was raining and Polly doesn't like to get wet so she didn't come but we headed off for work in Southamptin and Winchester which also meant a nice detour through the forest which was lovely.

 

Beats sitting at a desk I can tell you

 

 

 

 

I have new scrapping to share ... this was made using a mess of different kits and frames and elements from all sorts of designer, though the book is from Dawn Inskip. The page was made for a challenge on UKS which I found quite hard as it had to include a massive title.

 

 

 

 

and this one was just a bit of fun - part of Shimelle's random elements challenge - int his case things in glasses.

We love Toy Story Mania and were lucky to ride it 7 times last trip (long story but partly ride breakdown, partly VIP fast passes)  We were neck and neck as we went into the last rund and ... totally unfairly ... Nigel won.

I will get him next time!

Stunning Studland

We have had a busy week one way and another this week and so were looking forward to our 5 days weekend! It started today.

The weather was glorious and we planned to go and do the Swanage Treasure Hunt Nigel bought me but we never got there.

We went over on the ferry and got sidetracked and walked along Studland instead. It was a super morning - a little bracing in the wind but bright and sunny most of the time and a spectacular sky. Just a small selection of what I snapped - it was a very pretty day
