We were up early to take the boys to the vets. I have to say our vet is just utterly lovely. He totally understood our worries and said we were right to be worried. They as vets are still very much in the dark and he agreed that once they are symptomatic it is often too late. He gave them a thorough check and then took them off to have their blood tests. we were so proud when he came back that he said vets often dread when they see Bengals for things like blood tests as they are notoriously difficult and can be 'trouble' but our boys are absolutely lovely and were as good as gold and a credit to us. We felt like proud parents. So proud we walked out with the boys forgetting to pay. Thankfully on the short drive home Nigel realised and I paid by phone.
The vert rang in just an hour later which was amazing. He said their blood work looked good. Koda was better than Indy but Indy had everything in the normal range. The only thing that had dipped a bit was his neutrophils which were still normal but down a little. He said he wasn't worried about them at this stage and every day off the food was a plus and we should repeat the bloods in a month.
I know we are not out of the woods completely but the fact that in 2 weeks they have changed little and bloods are still normal is great and we have relaxed - a little. Thank you for keeping hem in your thoughts and prayers. Hopefully now we know that, my health will improve too as this has taken such a toll on me.
We went for a walk round Poole Park this morning - a couple of snaps that made us smile
One lone Greylag goose in amongst all the Canada geese. The other greylags were all together in another area - he clearly didn't get the memo
Beautifully planted beds
Nigel doing this for my amusement and scrapping delectation!
Mum dad and cygnet all heads down
we had just had the phone call from the vets!
Scrap Squad day 1 challenge
another for the 2021 album
and a tongue in cheek of the geese
Today I am thankful for
- a wonderful vet
- reassuring news for now
- knowing we have done all we can do for the time being. Unless we have them tested every week - which is not viable financially or more importantly for them - there is no more we can do but wait
