So we are back in lockdown and I for one am pleased. It is necessary for everyone and whilst so challenging for so many, I feel it is our only way forward.
In fairness for us it doesn't make a lot of difference. Apart from our daily walk well away from anyone we don't do anything - at all - and haven't for ages.
Our days are filled with kittens at the moment. It has been a long process socialising two babies who had never been without their mom and who had not been a part of a household with noise and activity and people. It's been hard and we set aside proper daily training sessions, lots of enrichment and lots of love. Koda is less jumpy though still doesn't like big stood up people. Indy is a delight and now very affectionate. They are trained in a food routine and learning to come when called and come to the finger and they love fuss. Koda still doesn't like being picked up but will choose to come and be cuddled on your knee or on the floor. They have more toys than they know what to do with but love play and it does, eventually, wear them out. As yet they are not TOO destructive but every day we have to move or modify something, usually for their own safety. My lounge looks like a cat playzone and I am perfectly fine with that.
Now - lots of kitty pictures - the are growing fast and little stumpy legged Indy, tiny compared to his brother, has suddenly sprouted long legs overnight it seems!
and of course I scrap them too!!!
This page records how they used the litter tray as a toy and scattered stuff everywhere and using it was a team sport. Couldn't resist the title. They now have a big boy litter tray with a hood.
Today I am thankful for
- Koda and Indy - they brighten our lives
- living with someone as cat crazy as me
- kittens responding to love and attention
Looks like someone is wearing a Minnesota Wild shirt! LOL!! A little Bengal kitten looks mighty cute up against that color. ;-)
How do the kittens handle having you run the vacuum cleaner? Dishwasher? Washer/Dryer? etc.
