So today is polling day and I am relieved and nervous. I don''t remember being this nervous for an election before. I just hope that whoever wins (and yes of course I have a preference) they have a big enough majority to do something. In my view there is nothing worse than a hung parliament and a coalition as nothing gets done, everything is a battle and the country loses. I just pray that, whoever wins, that leader is wise and careful, determined and fair, able to make the tough decisions that need to be made to save this wonderful country I am proud to call home. I think we are in for a bumpy ride and we need steering through that carefully and wisely.
I think we might stay up late and watch as much as we can because we are both worried about this one for fear of no clear majority either way.
Apart from the worry about the election, today has been lovely. I worked for a few hours this morning - very pleasant - I was doing a one to one supervision which is always much nicer. Then I met my best friend for a nice relaxed long lunch - how lucky are we to be doing that in June compared to what we used to have to do together in June. June was always our hell month - so it was lovely to enjoy time together in a very chilled and relaxed way.
I have also scrapped which is nice and I want to share a page I have just finished because I like it. It features a friends beautiful daughter and was for a mojo challenge on Pickleberrypop using a collection called Beyond the Beach by Mel Designs
Today I am thankful for
- the fact that, as a woman, I can vote. I did an assembly with my class last year on The Suffragettes, amazing women we owe so much to and I am proud every time I walk into a polling booth. It is one of the reasons I don't do postal votes - I love that I am allowed to be a part of the democratic process.
- Lunch with my bestie
And finally - the last batch of those doodles
