So today was a milestone day as I re-joined the work-force, albeit temporarily and a little half-heartedly.
The rationale went as follows ....
I am loving retirement but it would be nice to do something for money sometimes not just voluntary work.
I like schools so it would be nice to do something at a school.
I don't want a full time teaching job.
My neighbour said they were looking for invigilators down the road from me so I applied. It is only a few hours a week over an 8 week period and there is no preparation, marking etc. It is very little money but it would be something different. Oh my. Anyone who knows me well will understand why it was one of the hardest 2 1/2 hours today. I mean you do NOTHING but watch children work for 2 1/2 hours. I never do NOTHING. I never just sit. I never even watch TV but that I am scrapping or drawing or reading as well. It was hard. I was exhausted from being still!
However, life is about experiencing different things and this was certainly different for me.
I have new scrapping to share - not made today.
It was made for a challenge over at PBP to use three kits by three different designers. I used kits from Dita B, Tiramisu and Lara's Digi World.
Me in a hammock at The Caribbean Beach. Possibly the last time we will ever stay there. Having stayed there ten times it is now having major refurbishment set to last until the end of 2018 at least and so we made the decision we won't stay there till that is done and, depending on what they do to the resort with the DVC and the gondola etc we may never return. Our next trip will be at Port Orleans Riverside and, by all accounts, we are likely to like it so much we wont return to CBR. We will have to see.
Today I am thankful for
- new opportunities
- experiences to remember
and some more paper prettiness ... paper cutouts to make cute pictures
