I have been humming Robbie Williams 'Love my Life' because I do. Not every day is blissful. We all have our hurdles and obstacles to overcome. Mine is dealing with a very poorly knee recently but I still manage my 10000 steps a day, but actually my life is pretty damn good. It's simple but it is stress free.
It's amazing what you can do for very little cost and have a brilliant time. And the joy of walking int he countryside, seeing the ocean, eating your sandwiches outside, looking at clear blue skies and being together is priceless and wonderful.
Today we took our Ruby back to where she made her debut. April 1st last year we set off to see the bluebells at Pamphill and had the call, a week earlier that expected, that Ruby was 'born' and we could collect her. (No not another fur baby - our beloved car) We went and fetched her and her first trip was to the bluebells. We took her back today.
It was a little early and they were by no means at their peak, but we knew if we left it till the weekend or the Easter holidays it would be bombed and so the trade off was fewer bluebells but we were alone. It was hot - I mean HOT - and beautiful
It is also one year on since this picture was taken
I had had the nose op to remove a mole and the scar was very noticeable so he took another one today to show how it has healed.
The scaring has never gone completely - bio oil did its best - but I don't have cancer and the infection that did the real damage to the scar healed up so the scar, like every scar, is a reminder of what we have been through and how grateful we should be. Thankfully I cannot see the 6 inch scar across my back where the malignant melanoma was removed. Now that IS ugly! At least it is a part of my body almost always covered.
After the bluebells we went for a walk along the Stour - gorgeous
We built the patio furniture and put it on the balcony. Just the flooring to complete and we are happy bunnies.
Dawn has wonderful wonderful new goodies out today.
New York elements and there are also papers and brushes
It is a beautiful beautiful collection and I had such fun with it.
This is a page which records how moved we were when we visited Ellis Island. I used the words that feature on the Statue of Liberty
Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse
of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me, I lift my lamp
beside the golden door!
The Statue of Liberty-Ellis Island Foundation, Inc.
The journalling explains how moved we were by the place and how we both felt it was filled with the ghosts of so many who had passed through int heir search for a new life. Incredible place - if you go to New York go visit.
The other page was of a photo of Manhattan from the boat over with the twin towers shining prominently.

Today I am thankful for
- my life in every single sense. It's not perfect, but it's mine and it is pretty damn good.
The layouts about the two New York City landmarks are wonderful--- the journalling perfect. Yes, our world is so different. I am so glad I scrapbook, so I can look back on the days pre-9/11. But as you say, Life is pretty darn good to us. May God continue to watch over you and Nigel and be good to you! <3
