What a difference a week makes. I walked to art today and compared to last week I was freezing. Last week it was shirt sleeves and balmy … today there was a real nip in the air. But still good to be able to walk there.
I was also thrilled. The art group has an exhibition coming up at Upton House and the teacher asked if I had any work I had done previously that I would like to submit for approval. I took down two pieces from 20 years ago and they are both to be in the exhibition. I am so thrilled.
I finished my Tiger today. We were advised to avoid fur as it is more difficult. They were so right to advise that. However I wanted to try a tiger and this was the effort. Lots of errors and I now appreciate how much harder fur is – but is a learning curve – that’s why I go after all.
I have new scrapping to share today made with a new kit called Purrfect by JoCee Designs - a guest at Pickleberrypop at the moment. Kira tends to get a raw deal in scrapping terms. I have four or five times as many pages of the boy than of my little sweetheart girl. She tends to vanish into the ether when she sees a camera coming towards her, unlike her brother who, seeing a camera, poses.
However, I love her exactly the same and so it is a joy to be able to scrap her when I can.
Today I am thankful for
- art class - I really do enjoy going. The people are lovely and the art is fun
- BOTH of my fur babies - and the four who live in my heart rather than in the house now.
Congratulations on having your artwork selected! The tiger looks so majestic. Well done.
Oh, and Kira's little face looks so sweet. The pink really sets off her eyes!
