I am very lucky - most of the time Nigel cooks. Well, not so much cooks as prepares. He lives on a diet of convenience foods and I generally eat just salads and maybe some chicken. But he cuts a mean salad!
I like him to have something 'good' that is quick to prepare and so I batch cook int eh holidays. Now we have a freezer full of delicious vegetarian chilli and shepherd's pies. All cooked, all cooled and all portioned up ready for him to have my convenience food rather than additive filled rubbish.
It was a veritable production line in our kitchen today. But I proved I can be a housewife when I put my mind to it. Now, if her would just let me do that the whole time!
I have a new page to share today -another made with dawn Inskip's great layered templates and this time also using her Worn and well loved collection.
It features Emily - one of the very few pictures on her first birthday where she actually has her piglet hood on. Lasted all of 30 seconds!
Today I also found time to do a little colouring in my new colouring books. I have two - Johanna Basford's Secret Garden and Millie Marotta's Animal Kingdom.
I am not good with the spectrum noir pencils yet - but I will persevere. It is great relaxing therapy.
Today I am thankful for
- colouring books - no matter how old
- tidiness
- pretty new decorated storage boxes
Ewww... cooking! I will clean the bathrooms before I ever want to get near the stove. LOL!! I could easily live on salad and baked chicken, too, Karen. But I love steak and baked potato when I go out :-) I think I need Nigel to come to my house to cook ;-)
Such a darling layout, and looks like you are doing great things with the coloring book.
Karen, do you still zentangle? I started a journal of my favorite quotes/Bible verses with tangles decorating each page. Most of the quotes are still on scraps of paper waiting for a decorated page. But one day, I'll get back to it, when I have all my scrapping caught up ;-)
