OK so I didn't walk 10,000 miles, but together that is what people are planning to do.
We were involved in Plan UK's World Wide Walk today with school. The aim is to raise money for girl's education across the world. Plan UK say they ...
We work with the world’s poorest children so they can move themselves from a life of poverty to a future with opportunity. And Plan’s 76-year history has shown us that worldwide, no-one bears the brunt of poverty more than girls.
Plan are the experts on girls’ rights and Because I am a Girl is our flagship campaign. We have already helped 58 million girls and by 2016, we aim to support hundreds of millions more so that they will be free from violence and can get the education, skills and support they need to become powerful forces for change in their communities.
We're fighting for girls' rights
Across the globe, girls’ rights are threatened by poverty, gender inequality, violence, poor education, unfair policies, ingrained attitudes, conflict and disasters. We must speak out in support of every girl’s right to live safe from violence, to go to school, to take key roles in their communities, to marry who they want, when they want and to have their voices heard.
We're helping the most vulnerable girls
We are particularly focused on helping adolescent girls. For many girls, adolescence brings an increased threat of abuse or violence and a denial of rights and choices, meaning they are often invisible in global and national processes that seek to end poverty.
Protecting the rights of adolescent girls, keeping them safe from harm, giving them access to a quality education and delaying marriage or childbirth means they can break the cycle of poverty to look forward to a brighter future.

We opted to walk today and it was glorious. Starting from school everyone walked through the gardens to the centre of town and then along the beach. The full walk was 20k ... to Hengistbury Head and back. We didn't manage that - we walked 5.2 miles ... pretty much 8.5km. And boy do I know it. My knee has been very bad for the past few weeks and whilst I was fine when I was walking it is pretty much seized up now and very very swollen. I know I need the bits hoovering out but don't want to have it done! There were mini buses to bring us back from wherever we bailed out at different check points too, so we were lucky we only had to walk one way.
Anyway it was a beautiful walk in great company with a super sense of community. And hopefully we raised a lot of money. The sun shone (though the wind was quite keen) and the ginger ice-cream made a good break! and I walked with two of my favourite people in the world!

Then I came home, worked and finally scrapped.
I have another Pickle Barrel page today - This time I used 'Pretty Little Things ' by Vero, a new designer at Pickleberrypop (where we have lots of new designers and their work is awesome so go check it out
This is what I made and it features another one of my favourite people int he world - Emily

Today I am thankful for
- Living in a country where our girls are educated as well as boys
- Living in a country where our girls are safe and not subject to some of the atrocities that happen in other parts of the world.
- Living in a beautiful part of our country - I cannot imagine not being close to the ocean
- Sunshine and ice-cream, company and comradeship,
- Ibuprofen ... oh yeah!
