Its been dull and drizzly here today so we did something we rarely do - we went to the cinema.
I had read a lot about the new film Noah - the publicity machines did what they were paid to do, because it all made me want to see it for myself. And I am so pleased we went.
I think it was good to see it on the big screen - although big screens are not what they used to be are they! The big screens have become so much smaller. In direct contrast t ohe huge buckets of food that have increased in size. I mean surely at no other time would normal rational people consider buying drinks and popcorn buckets that size. And do you really need sweets and ice cream and nachos and hot dogs to get you through a simple two hour film! It is quite obsene ... as are the prices. Not only are the tickets expensive (and why we usually wait until things come out on DVD) but £3.50 for an ice-cream .. even if it is Ben and Jerry's. I took a bottle of water and two bars of chocolate and Niigel wouldn't have bought anything but his cough re-emerged so he bought the smallest coke they sold .... still huge.
Anyway I digress. The film. OK there were some considerable variations in the biblical story we knew and loved ... and some pretty big leaps ... but actually the integrity of the message was there, the cinematography was beautiful and the acting very good. It was poignant in places, well crafted and, once you overcame the 'transformer-like' stone watchers and the fact the ark didn't look a picture-book version, it was very enjoyable.
We came away with a strong message in our minds and both enjoyed seeing actors we like. Nigel very much likes the grown up Emma Watson, who I thought aquitted herself well, and Russell Crowe .... what's not to like.
It beat being out in the rain ... no pun intended ... hands down.
Now from one intrepid man to another - OK not so intrepid, but intrepid enough for me.
The page was made with a new collection called Enjoy the Journey by Keep in Tough Designs at Pickleberrypop and is a perfect collection for any travel pages.
Today I am thankful for

Love the travel page. I think you've seen more of the USA than I have! LOL!! I'm hoping Steve and I will be able to get to Yellowstone Nat. Park this summer--- as long as it's not burning ;-)
