It's been a busy week. Now there's a suprise eh!
But it has been seriously busy and every Friday night seems like a holiday.
I love my Friday nights. We try and do nothing other than enjoy being together on a Friday evening. It is the one evening that I try not to work and it is a special treasured time for us both.
I came home today to the smell of fresh bread baking. Awesome. I am very lucky.
Now I was playing catch up with LSNED
This is my page for 11th September.
I guess slightly inevitably really.
I last scrapped this for my 2011 journal.
9/11 was a defining moment in history and one no-one will ever forget. However apart from the awful tragedy of the day that rocked the world it was a tragedy beginning for me too. I remember going to Daddy's after school and watching the fall of the twin towers as I packed his case ready for hospital.
I remember him saying that he wouldn't be coming home again and he hoped I understood that. I remember telling him not to be so stupid - of course he was coming home.
He went downhill very suddenly and I remember being sent for urgently on the morning of Friday 14th September and we thought he wouldn't last the day.
I remember standing in his hospital room as we observed the two minutes silence on 14th. And Daddy passed away in the early hours of the morning on 15th September 2001. For me, the two events are linked firmly together and that's why the quote was so important for this year's journal based on quotes.
I also have my page for 12th September - yesterday - a much more light-hearted page.
Today I am thankful for
- watching a great celebration - really really proud
- Friday
- Fresh baked bread.
I have to laugh at this as we were great fans of animaniacs and Pinky and the Brain. For those of you who have no idea what I am talking about watch this clip.We loved them ... so it's a great LOL cat
Incidentally - we call the CFH Pinky and the Brain. Bet you can guess who is who!
How sad to have two life-changing tragedies in one week. I hope the scrapping was therapeutic for you.
Friday nights were always my favorite night, too, when I was teaching.
Enjoy your weekend! May it be bright and sunny :-)
