Just a reminder that if you look at Saturday's post you can still bag the free giveaway of the amazing Dolly Daydream collection by Dawn Inskip. So much loveliness ... and for free.
Today we headed for the hills - quite literally.
We drove out to Corfe Castle thinking there might be a bit of a breeze out there.
Mmmm
There was a teeny breeze, but it was very very hot.
We sat and had a picnic at the top and it was really lovely.
Enjoy the views without the walk!
This was taken from where we parked near God's Acre (love that name every time we go there)
Corfe is such a pretty pretty village
We went into St Edward's church
They don't let just anyone into the castle.
Reprobates are screened out on entry!
It is a reasonable walk. The arrow shows where our car was parked
It is lovely to see the Swanage to Corfe steam train and even more lovely to hear it. It makes such a special noise. I grew up in an era where trains were called chuff chuffs for a very good reason.
And my favourite picture of the day. Except of course it wasn't MY picture.
I can take 50 photos and Nigel can take 2 and his will still be better than all 50 of mine!
I also have a page to share that I made yesterday for another challenge ... this time a challenge to use one of the photo prompts and I went with the prompt for statues.
I went out and took pictures of the fairy door I love so much and our garden fairies.
Today I am thankful for
- days out
- slight breezes
- a new sun hat
- cold drinks
- air conditioning in cars ... I may just sleep in the car tonight.
Loved this picture of a very rare golden tiger
Thanks for the tour! What a lovely way to spend a day.
