I like Saturdays. I really do.
I like them when Nigel forbids me to work.
It's been quite a week and Nigel said I had to have a complete day off.
It is rather unusual for me ... and I have to admit I was tired enough to agree.
We went bargain hunting today as I was still after a cake stand and a tea pot. No luck at all on the teapot. Nothing at all at Wimborne Market or Molly's Den.
I did, however, find the perfect cake stand at Laura Ashley and it was half price.
It is really pretty and goes a treat with the teaset.
We also bought a huge - and I mean huge - mirror with a very distressed sort of driftwood frame.
For the past 22 years there has been nothing over our fireplace at home int he lounge. We have very bare walls at home in most rooms.
We have tried various things and nothing has been right and I thought a mirror might be the right option.
It was stunning and the perfect size and colour. It reflected the green wall opposite and so brought the green into that side of the room. But - still not right and I think we have actually finally conceeded that what we like above the fireplace is plain old empty space.
Thankfully we checked before we bought it that it could go back.
I have another pickle barrel page to share today - so do remember to go visit Pickleberrypop and snap up some of those Pickle Barrel baragins this weekend.
This one was made with a lush collection by Amber Shaw called Cache Me
If you are in to geocaching it is perfect.
I loved the colours and how they worked for outdoorsy pages not just beach pages.
The photos are from one of our trips to Utah - this one in 2007.
Today I am thankful for
- chilling out - and it has been chilly. I am sat here, in June, just after the longest day of the year, in a winter jumper. I kid you not. The weather is bizarre.
