The day began beautifully with a coffee - cold in our case - with some friends. A nice way to start off before we headed back to IKEA. Oh yes - two days running ... we know how to live.
It was, however, largely a good visit as we got everything we went for plus a few things we didn't.
We are re-jigging a spare bedroom and kitting it out with a sofa bed and more storage. They had everything in stock and it all fitted in the car except the sofa bed of course.
We went to arrange delivery for it and they surprised us by saying that we can have it tomorrow. Amazing!
We also managed to find the perfect plastic storage box for all the wrapping paper that was stored in one of the under bed drawers. And, the icing ont he cake, I THINk (I will believe it when it happens) that I have already sold the bed. We were worried about how we would get rid of it - let alone sell it. I looked on Gumtree and someone was looking for double beds. This happens to be a very good one and almost new and they said they want it and will come tomorrow. we'll see. It all seems to be going a little too well.
The downside was I was rishing when I bought some of the storage cubes and two fo them are not storage cubes but another sort of very bizarre storage. I can't face going back! I will find a way - some way, somehow, to adapt it!
When we came home we took all the decorations down and tomorrow is going to be a day of dismantling beds, building furniture and sorting - but I am sure it will be worth it. The trouble is we haven't had the nerve to tell Fiki yet. The spare room we are re-doing is 'his' room. Oh yes, he has his own room.
When we bought the KFH they were kept in the spare room, sleeping in there, with the door firmly shut, for the first three years of their life. They used to do so much damage if left unattended in some rooms that it was easier for them to sleep in there. And they loved it. They would go running in there at bedtime, knowing it was time to snuggle up. Although Kira almost never ever goes in there now, Fiki sleeps in there every day and every night. He has his own blanket on the top of the bed which he wraps himself in during the day and although he could sleep anywhere in the house at night he choses to sleep in there. He is not going to be happy when 'his' double bed goes. Tomorrow is not going to be an easy day! He doesn't really like us going in 'his' room so mmmmm - fun ahead I fear.
This is what you suually see - a rolled upo sausage with a Fiki in it. Never had a cat do this before. He feels the cold terrible and does roll himself up in his blanket
And him slowly waking up
I can't understand when people say my cats are spoilt!!!
I have two more pages of my Project 366 to share - almost at the end now.
This was week 48 and week 49.
Today I am thankful for
- NOT having to go to IKEA again tomorrow! (said with everything crossed)
- IKEA having everything in stock
- Coffee with friends
- The ability to want to throw the occasional thing out
- A wonderful Christmas - now all packed away for next year.
Oh poor Fiki he is not going to be a happy chappy tomorrow.
