There is a real Autumn feel and the leaves are looking lovely.
Of course they are not New England lovely - we don't have the same depth of colour or the diversity of colour - but pretty nice none the less.
At work we have a spectacular acer and I pulled over on the way home to snap a picture for my photo of the day.
I hope to go 'leaf spotting' in half term and just hope they haven't all gone by then.
I have other pictures of the day to catch up on.
Monday was a gift at work of a lemon and slime bar - sounds vile and tasted delicious.
Tuesday - well what do you give a Bengal cat owner for their birthday? Spotty presents of course.
I have a new page to share today made with a fab new kit - or rather kits by Lorie M at Pickleberrypop. The kit and alpha and templates are called Simplicity and the model is Emily. She wasn't actually being very 'model' though as we were undertaking the daily hair brushing ordeal. Mmmmm - not an easy thing.
- autumn leaves - love them
- music on my i phone as my radio was on strike today in the car
and the page of the day calendar today
The game was on the line when my grandson David, 11, came to bat in the top of the ninth inning. There were two outs and a runner on second base, and his team was behind by one run. I held my breath as
David fouled off the first pitch, swung at and missed the second, took a ball low, and fouled off the third ball. Then he drilled a high fastball past the diving first baseman, batting in the tying run. He stole second and ended up scoring to give his team a 13–12 victory. I don’t know who was more excited,
David or his cheering grandma!
But the next game was different. David batted 0 for 2, and had trouble getting the ball over the plate when he pitched. He was pulled from the game in the fifth inning, and his team was knocked out of
the tournament.
Still, my young grandson is able to keep baseball in perspective: The main thing for him is doing his best and having fun. He accepts his successes and failures, his wins and losses, for what they are—an inevitable part of the game. He did the same thing after the loss as after the win: He practiced batting to improve his skills. That’s a pretty good example for living life, wouldn’t you say?

and finally the last of those amazing photos from sara's e mail
How did they capture this one - the moment of the sting
1 boat 145 water skiers!
All our leaves are about down now. They were not that pretty this year, as we had such a drought. As much as I dislike autumn, I am thankful for the dropped leaves, as it helps me better see the two eagles that live about 2.5 miles from my house :-)
