It;s been a busy olf week and I haven't posted any of my photos of the day and yesterday I drove a long long way and so didn't even do my LSNED.
So here is a catch up.
This is my LSNED from yesterday when my lesson was all about driving - which I don't like - and trip that was good.
Today's lesson was about temperature - and the way we feel it. Today is the first official day of Autum, my favourite season of the year. It was glorious weather, really sunny but a definite chill in the air. After working this morning we went for a breif walk at Sandbanks and I was well wrapped up. Not so these guys!
and some catch ups of my photos of the day
Sunday - my clean car ... thank you Nigel
Monday a beautiful misty heath as I left for work
Tuesday the finished fence
Wednesday Fairy doors - just need the magic fairy dust now
Thursday no way is this food!
Friday a conference
Saturday sand dunes at Sandbanks
and just a couple of other pictures from today as it was beautiful down there
and some real life scrapping to share too. This was made for the Simple Recipe challenge this month on UKS
It was also prompted by a challenge from Nij to use this title.
The photo is one we took on their very first day home. They were just 12 weeks old.
One of the challenges was to use rub ons. I haven't used them for ages so it was fun to get the box out. The date and the for keeps were both rub ons
I also used rub ons on the photo. And I cut out then inked and stamped the title.
Today I am thankful for
- the end of a manic week and the possibility of a lie in tomorrow
- Autumn sunshine
- The central heating!!!
And my page a day calendar page
MYSTERIOUS WAYS
On a hot summer Sunday afternoon, my wife and I had been invited to a swimming party at the home of some friends. With our two children in the care of my grandmother, Cherie and I felt as free as the breeze. As I stood on the diving board, I paused to look up into the serene sky.
But then a frantic voice rose above the party din. At the far end of the pool, a woman was screaming. “The baby!” I heard her cry. “He’s at the bottom of the pool!”
No one was doing anything to help. People just stood and stared at her. Confused, I searched the length of the pool and saw what I thought might be a motionless form beneath the water. I dived in—and a baby was there. I hurriedly swept him off the bottom and soon laid him on the deck. He’d turned blue … no breath. I began CPR. Dear God, help me do it right.
At last the little boy coughed. A short breath came, then another. He would live. An ambulance was called, for safety’s sake. While we waited, I couldn’t help asking the others, “Why did you ignore the woman when she said the boy was drowning?”
A friend answered, “None of us understood her, Scott!’
“What do you mean? Even at the far end, I could hear her yelling about the baby!”
“But she’s Mexican. None of us understood her Spanish!”
“Spanish? I heard her yell in English!”
“We didn’t. All we heard was Spanish!”
“It’s true,” said the woman’s daughter. “Mama can’t speak a word of English!”
“And I don’t understand a word of Spanish,” I said.

cries.
Oh, how I know what you mean about not wanting to drive long distances. But Steve has pretty much given up driving. He will drive to the pharmacy and back, or the post office and back, and that's about it. It makes him nervous these days. I don't know what did that, but I'm the one who does most of the driving now. :-( I'm beginning to get used to it, but I sure wish I had a good g.ps. !
Wow! I guess the wind saw the calendar yesterday. It was like--oh, yes! September 21... first day of Fall...Well, here it is!!
We had high winds, only a little sunshine (not so to warm anything up), and cool temps. A pretty wild beginning to Fall! I have never, ever experienced a season that comes in right on the mark! :-)
I LOVE Nigel's title and you did a fabulous job meeting the challenge :-)
