I was a lucky girl today and I went to the launch of the 2009 Bournemouth Air Show.
It was a real VIP event and very interesting. The Bournemouth Air Festival in 2008, its inaugural year, was an amazing event and drew in 750,000 people. It is apparentlyt eh biggest and best free event int he country and the aim this year is to make it the biggest and best free event in Europe and it is exciting to be even a teeny part of it.
The launch was held at the airport with some very important people from the RAF, RN etc making presentations and I was enthused by what they said and what is coming this summer.
If you have the chance, make sure you see it because it is going to be even better than last year. And last year was awesome.T
he launch was in the DeHavilland hanger and there was a chance to see some of the planes close to like the SeaVixen and, of course, a Red Arrows jet.
It's not everyday you get to get up close and personal with one of the red Arrows and see the cockpit and everything which I went to see at the end of the launch. The photos were not take by me today - though they were taken on my camera. I was thrilled that Racheal was there but you'd have thought people from a very prestigious camera store might have taken a camera!!! Sorry Racheal ... had to say it LOL. It was great to see you - it's been ages. I hope you received the photos OK.
I have had to have two photos of the day today as I like both of them!
Now to my show and tell for today.
If you want to find out more about Show and Tell friday hosted at Kelli's House then follow the link. It's a great place to browse some lovely ideas.
My show and tell today is my little box of wisdom.
I made the box for Karen at Charmed Cards and Crafts and there are details and instructions of how I made it on her web site - along with so much other cool stuff. She has such an inspirational team (and no I don't mean me) with such cool ideas and classes and tutorials.
The premis of the box was to have a little box of inspiration to sit on my desk so that when I have a bad day - and goodness knows I have had a few of those of late, I could look in the box to find some words of wisdom that might encourage me.
The materials are all from the K and Co Life's Journey range, which is such lovely stuff to work with, and I am already enjoying having it on my desk to look at.
I used some of my favourite quotes and some of my favourite pictures. It is very small, only measuring 3" x 2" but I think looks neat just sat on the desk without taking up too much space.
I love making mini things - I guess it comes from the years of working with 1/12 scale dolls houses and miniatures.
Thanks for looking at my show and tell and have a great weekend.
That air show must have been something to witness!
I love the box you made. Here's my post:
