Before I get started I had better explain the pages here. They bear no link to the main text they are just pages I haven’t uploaded. The first was for A True Friend blog and was the other page about the song associated with the pet – Fiki and Tiger Feet. The other two pages were completed for Patricia Christensen at Weeds and Wildflowers as a design team piece for her new kit Summer Tweets. Also REMEMBER to check back tomorrow for Magical Memories Prompt 2 – I think you’ll love it. Yesterday we needed to think about what inspired us and what we aspire to. My inspiration comes largely from two different sources. Firstly it comes from my family. Now by my family I mean Nigel and the fur babies. Nigel inspires me so much in so many ways and also falls into the aspirational category as I’d like to become more like him. . I don’t want to share too much here as I want to journal it for the page which I am sure is coming, but he is one of the only truly good people I have ever ever met. He doesn’t really have flaws (I have looked for them for the past 22 years and haven’t really ever found a major one). He is genuinely kind and thoughtful to everyone. He never thinks badly of other people, always seeing their point of view (drives me mad at times when I just want him to listen to me moan and see MY point of view) He is funny and loyal and caring and wise and honest and a jolly good egg! . It all sounds awfully corny but I genuinely believe he is a truly good person and I aspire to be more like him.; as laid back, as considerate, as even tempered and as happy with himself and the world in general. I am inspired by my cats – largely to create daft scrapbook pages about their antics and how much we love them. The other thing that inspires me, be it to scrap, to paint, to write to think, is nature. Nothing inspires me more than seeing a beautiful view be it a pine forest, a mountain lake, a daisy on the lawn, a rainbow, a woodpecker in the garden, a tiger, waves crashing on the beach – anything. Nature inspires me to want to be contemplative and to want to create. Today’s blog talked of a dream day – and I am taking that literally. I am going fantasy full on with the ability to teleport to places across the world in an instant. I mean that’s a given isn’t it! I would wake up, next to Nigel of course, in our suite at the Venetian in Las Vegas America UK Time to eat again and we’d meet Jakki and Gary at The Outback Steakhouse for dinner before returning to watch Reflections of Earth together at EPCOT. We’d pop back over to Vegas and the four of us would watch Seigfried and Roy at the Mirage before returning to our suite at the Venetian. (Yup we have teleported back to Vegas again) Then we’d have a few quiet drinks on our luxury enclosed terrace (so the cats could play with no risk of them running away) before Jakki and Gary went home and we turned in for the night. We’d wake up, refreshes, back at home in our own bed having had the perfect day. I have gone for things we have done and places we have been as I have always enjoyed them, I have just compressed the time somewhat (LOL – imagine doing all of that in one day!) and included the three things that stop the holiday from being perfect in reality – the cats. Shimelle also asked us to post links to sites that inspire us - click any in my side bar - they are all there because I love them I haven’t blogged properly about the Shimelle ideas for the past two days so am about to address that.
As for aspirations – I have already said I want to be more like Nigel. I aspire to be a person who takes life in their stride, who does not get wound up by trivialities that you have no control over anyway, who is calm no matter what happens and who enjoys each moment for what it is without worrying about the next. I also want to write a book …. A children’s book.. Oh I know everyone dreams of that, but I really really do and I WILL do it one day. The idea is there. I think of it often and one day – one day – I will do it. I don’t want to be the next J K Rowling (though I wouldn’t turn it down you understand!) but I just want the thrill of seeing my name on the spine of a genuine printed book and know that children are reading it and enjoying it.
We’d have lunch in the Cheesecake Factory and then go and relax by the pool, but some important teleporting would have taken place here as the pool we would sit by would be at The Caribbean Beach Resort (It’s a nicer pool than the Venetian and we usually have it to ourselves) We sun ourselves for a couple of hours and then go in and shower and cool off. The cats, of course, would have an outdoor and indoor run in our luxury suite so they would be enjoying the day too. We’d hit the parks for a couple of hours, managing to do things from all four parks in that time – the safari at the Animal Kingdom, Splash Mountain and The Hall of the Presidents in the Magic Kingdom, The Great Movie Ride and the Tower of Terror at MGM and then pretty much everything at EPCOT including listening to Off Kilter.
Wow, you certainly don't want much for your dream day!! Made me want to rethink mine as it is far too simple!
