So, just for a change, we have been to the vets. Me and Kira and, this time, Aunty Jakki. Nij couldn't get home in time so Jakki took us .... a brave girl indeed taking the loudest cat in the world in her car.
Kira was actually an exemplary girl. She howled a bit when we first got in but was very quiet for her. When we put her in the carrier just to get her into the surgery, though, my how she howled. Yet again everyone looks at us, fascinated that something that can be contained in such a small pretty pink princess carrier can sound so loud, so miserable, so angry and so persistent. Boy can that girl howl. Once I get sat down and open the carrier (It's OK ..... there is no way on God's earth she'd ever get out at the vets) she is quiet again.
We saw Katie today instead of Tom. Katie knew we'd arrived as she'd heard us. She knows our Kira! She waas brilliant once we prisedKira out of the carrier. She said the wounds, whilst angry, were not infected and that more and more scabs is quite normal. Katie has an allergic cat of her own. She was impressed her coat was a bit better but said her head was all inflamed (Its very hot and red all over) and so gave her another steroid injection. I was just glad she was seen really.
On the way home Kira sat like a baby, no crying, just as good as gold and she even deigned to eat some of her food when we got home. (she has been on hunger strike recently!)
We had a quick tea and then went and stood out on our balcony and watched the local organised display which was lovely.
I am attending our local crop tomorrow and teaching a class I am really quite proud of. It will be nice to get away for the day, to just relax. I haven't really sorted out anything to do, but what the heck. Even if I just sit and doodle, it'll be nice.
