D is for part 2

I love the first day of the holidays. It is usally a day when i do very very little as I have so much time stretching ahead it makes me waste it. Well not waste just enjoy idling really.

I was actually up quite early and after breakfast I tried out my new Dance Coach wii game and burnt off breakfast and more!

My new distance learning course arrived - it is to do a Level 3 counselling course that I figured might be useful for work as i seem to do more and more counselling these days.

I scrapped a little plus we went for a nice long walk with a Starbucks at the end of it. (Don't our walks always have Starbucks at the end!)

So here are some D's

 I finished this page this morning - a paper version of our off road adventures in Death Valley.

 

 

The album is coming on really well now and is looking very full, but proving to be a lovely record of our trip.

D is for Doing part 1

It has been a glorious day here - weather wise - so lets do the positives first. It was snowdrop weekend at our local NT property Kingston Lacey. we go every year and it is always lovely. The sun made it really pretty today and there was even a bit of warmth in the air. There didn't seem quite as many snowdrops this year - or maybe we have just gotten used to them. But it was still lovely and as we are in D fortnight I made inroads into my D's.

Thank you to everyone who so kimdly posted messages for the Fiki monster. I hate seeing him in pain. He is moving around but has an awful bad limp and is moving a little as possible, poor thing. I can't figure if it is his leg, his hips or his back but he is in a lot of pain and struggling bless him. But he is eating and has taken his medicine .... just about.

We have to watch him for a fortnight and take him back on 23rd to be checked unless he deteriorates in which case we have to go back straight away.

I hate when they are in pain and you can't help them.

Today I am thankful for

• Sunny days and lovely places
• Time to relax and value each other
• A shorter journey for a friend than might have been the case :(

 

 

C is for ... well it should be desperation

So this fortnight has been C is for. And really it should stand for desperate as I have been today to try and get some pictures.

I never seem to remember to take the photos till the eleventh hour and this letter has been no exception and quite frankly it has been a pants day to try and get photos.

But here goes - a very tongue in cheek C.

C is for carpark (oh and a bonus for Carpetright!)

Now in the interests of art, my creative element is also a C today. I did a challenge on Scrapbookgraphics which was the hybrid challenge and great fun to make a quick little bookmark. I love the way it slips over the corner of the page and I love it so much I have printed enough off to make them with my class on World Book Day.

So C is for corner.

Today I am thankful

• to have something crafty for the children to make

 

 

B is for Boats

So we come to the end of the second fortnight in 2011 and time to share my B photos.

I guess B is for boats was a given knowing I live by the second biggest natural harbour in the world. And B would have been for beach too - but we didn't go to Bournemouth Beach so it isn't!

Anyway here are my B photos for the last two weeks.

Today I am thankful

• I finally managed to switch off bubble shooter!

And I also have the final two inspirational phrases fromt he e mail of the week.

When you pray for others, God listens to you and blesses them; and sometimes, when you are safe and happy, remember that someone has prayed for you. 

 WORRYING does not take away tomorrow's TROUBLES; it takes away today’s PEACE.

 

That last one is my favourite and something to live by for all of us.

And finally, in the same vein as yesterday - I share this one

 

 

A is for .... a whole new project

There is a new project running over at UKS and on Flickr. 52 weeks a year, 26 letters in the alphabet. Therefore one new letter every fortnight.

The task - take pictures beginning with that letter of the alphabet during those two weeks. My personal challenge to add to that (well i would wouldn't I!) is to scrap them as well. that way I end up with an album of phitographs fromt he year on an A - Z theme.

Well that is the plan anyway.

So knowing I won't get to take many more photos in the next 5 days, here are my A's that I need to turn into a page somehow. Many of them were taken this morning on a lovely walk along the beach on a crisp winter day with not a cloud in the sky.

A is for angles and alpines 

 
A is for architecture - this amzing house ont he cliff tops with awesome views

 

 
A is for arches - several of them. Arches are a theme in our life. We have arches at the front of the house, an arched gate, an arched firplaces, arches on much of our furniture and an arch window.

and for each letter I am also going to include my favourite photo ever of that letter and so it has to be arches for this one too - Arches National Park in Utah.
