I have booked some craft fairs for later int he year and I sold so much of my stock I needed to replenish so I have been 'making' today and it was nice to get covered in glue and ink again.
Barb you asked about the old photos I used for the photobook. I was lucky that most of them were OK and didn't need much tinkering with. I scanned all of the old photos a few years ago - a mammoth job - and put them all on CDs for my family and for Nigel's family. I run them through photoshop but mostly they just need the colour adjusting and a bit of brightening.
I did have some very old ones in poor condition and had to spend quite a long time fixing them. Here are some examples.
I did those a few years ago and think I could probably do a better job now - but they work OK.
This one had been in a frame - used to be colour and was so awful I couldn't change the colours so I had to make it black and white
I also used to have fun playing around with colouring them digitally like the really old painted photos
and some just needed the colour adjusting and brightening and a few marks removed
and finally - because this was fun to share - some older heritage pages
Today I am thankful for
- old photos and family history
- the wonders of photoshop
- scrapbooking - what a special hobby
- the joy and laughter Terry Wogan brought - what a sad loss.
