Today has been about catching up in all sorts of Christmassy ways.
We didn't dare put the tree up before we went away as we have a Fiki monster who still can't be trusted with a tree. So today the tree went up and thus far all is well. Largely as Fiki jas not been allowed in the lounge yet. Tonight will be make or break. We live in hope that at almost 11 he may have grown out of tree mayhem.
We also caught up on wrapping the presents - pretty much all done.
We even popped into Bournemouth to see the Coca Cola lorry.
I have also caught up on my JYC pages - taking pictures of those alrready made as well as making the new ones.
So here is my JYC catchup
Day 12 was about our newest light decoration. Bought from the Christmas shop in Letchlade that we visited spcially, it is a lovely little alpine scne and it looks lovely by day and by noght, when it is all lit up.
The tag pulls out to show a photo of it all lit up.
Day 13 is a tribute to Christmas and out friend Mike. These beautiful nutcrackers came from Florida and were a Christmas gift from Mike a few years ago. They are from a shop I love in Florida and are something we had always wanted and never had. They are the perfect size and gaurd our Christmas fireplace.
JYC 14 is actually a day later than it should be. When I came home from school having finished for the holidays this is what greeted me. Christmas had truly come. Nigel had bought and made the kitchen garlands I had wanted for so long. And they looked wonderful. I know we will enjoy this newest of decorations for years to come
JYC 15 is the light that is in pour library window and reminds us, every time we come in or go out, that Jesus is the reason for the season. It is something we have had for years and is a perennial Christmas must have.
JYC 16 is so very very US. Christmas .... love it. Disney .... love it. This combines the two things. It is very plush and luxurious and was bought at the Disney Store in the Disney Village Marketplace in 2000 to mark the Millenium.
JYC17 is the first of the tree pages. You see we have 2 trees to bring Christmas spirit to the lounge. But this one is outside.
I begged for years to have a tree ont he balcony and Nigel never thought it would be a good idea.
But last year I won the battle and we bought a tree for outside. I am guessing it might not be a long lived decoration as it is really an indoor tree, but it survived last year with no sign of damage and so is up again this year. It is so firmly fixed it is not true as we get high winds and are very exposed.
I love looking out of the lounge window to see the tree and the icicle lights.
Today I am thankful for
- things going wrong being put right
- Nigel - Lord knows how the heck he puts up with me when I go into meltdown as I did today ... he truly is a saint
