So welcome to the new spruced up blog for February - well it is the month of Valentine's Day.
New banner, new colours, new avatar (passport picture taken last week)
And advance notice of a free class here tomorrow too.
What a glorious day it has been today after a lot of heavy rain and strong winds. So nice to get out and enjoy the sunshine.
A little amble round town, a frap for lunch and a browse round a shop people at work recommended - Molly's Den.
I'm not quite sure how I felt about it.
It was a veritable aladdin's cave with so much to look at and very interesting. I think we both spent a fair amount of time saying things like 'Oh look, do you remmeber ...' 'Oh I had one just like that' and the like.
There were some nice things there but also a lot of what we viewed as rubbish. Nigel said that we had spent ages clearing our garage of just the sort of stuff much of it was.
I did see a te set I loved. The thinnest bone china and it was vintage and very pretty and I was told a firm no and reminded if it had been in our garage he would have thrown it out!
I liked the shabby chic stuff and would love do do a room out in it with a shabby dresser and chairs and lots of bunting and folk art. Never going to happen but nice to dream.
Anyway it was fun to visit but I am not sure we will ever go back.
I have done a little scrapping - a page for the weekly challenge on UKS.
It was to be food and holiday related so what better to scrap than a page all about Disney Dine for the Florida album.
The Disney Dine was remarkable. We think we had about $60 a day of free food - and nice food too. It was so simple and so much of a saving .... all the more to spend on scrap supplies.
I tucked some of the recipts in behind. We were so lucky that they explained it so carefully to us. On our first morning we didn't have a clue what was included but it was a full breakfast and drinks and refills and juice etc
We had so much left over we even brought snacks home with us.
I also used the gesso stencilled textured heart I made.
Today I am thankful for
- a bit of sunshine
- time to scrap
- resisting things I didn't need but wanted

ooh Molly's Den sounds fascinating. Where is it? Hubby is on deployment and I can get away with sneaking stuff into the house! By the time he gets home, I can truthfully say that I've had it for ages!
That gessoed heart looks stunning by the way!
