It's been a quiet day in our household - for several reasons.
Firstly still not feeling fab and about to de-camp for another lie down. The throat is sore so talking is minimal - thus queit.
However the real focus on quiet is the central heating.

Here I suggest that you skip to the pretty scrapbook page as the next bit is long and frankly not that interesting to anyone but us.

We had issues yesterday with the most outrageous noises we had ever heard. Everything juddered and vibrated. It was really scary. It lasted about 10 seconds which seemed an eternity. They were short lived - happening 4 times during the afternoon and evening - and then the boiler started not lighting. It did this before Christmas and then healed itself.
It tries to fire up but nada. Nowt, Nothing at all. You click reset and thankfully it lights.
So we thought that was it until we went to bed.
I lay in bed and could hear hissing. The heating was off. There was definite hissing. Nigel couldn't hear a thing as he has quite bad tinitis and doesn't hear quiet noises over the constant whooshing the poor man has to live with all the time.
I began to think it was a side effect of the labyrinthitis but although that affects the ears it doesn't usually affect the hearing.
I went off in search and found the problem. The heating was off but the pump was still going and was red hot and by redhot I mean RED HOT! Scarily hot.
We tried several things but in the end we switched the master switch off and hoped for the best. We slept fitfully and we knew the heating wasn't going to switch itself on to be warm when we woke up.
When we did get up we switched the master switch back on and thankfully the pump didn't start.
We switched the heating on and the pump started but the boiler didn't fire up!
We reset the boiler and the heating ran. Once the house reached temperature it switched off. Perfect and the pump stopped.
BUT the next time it cycledc on it still didn't fire up the boiler. Another reset.
Since then - well since then it has been switching on and off like it should, firing up like it should, no excess pump running and no other noises.
But we simply don't trust it.
A little light scrapping today but not as much as normal as I wasn't really up to it or in the mood.
This was made for two challenges, the UKS monthly house challenge with a quote to be inspired by and the Once Upon a Sketch challenge this month
It took longer than I would have liked for the flowers to be honest
The theme was love and I love dolphins second only to cats (of all sizes)
Today I am thankful for
- the heating working
- feeling a little better thankfully

How scarey about the furnace! Is it rather old? I don't know if I would be able to sleep at night knowing something could go wrong. Please take care!
How appropriate to scrap about your love of the dolphins with Valentine's Day coming up now. I hope you will be feeling 100% so you can enjoy something very special with Nigel on Thursday.
