OK so I am not referring to my diet - though no Cadbury's flakes there either.
There was a forecast for snow but not in our area - but I lived in hope. Just a little sprinkling to make it look pretty.
Nope
Nothing
Not a flake.
It was chilly though. Glad I bought those snuggy fur lined boots now.
I do have a review to share though. Last night we went to see the film Les Miserables and I went with some reasonably severe doubts.
We are HUGE Les Mis fans. We are fans of any stage production, love musicals and Les Mis is our very favourite and we have seen it over and over and over again - usually in London but also in Southampton and also the Les Mis concert. As I love it so much I was worried I wouldn't like the film. I couldn't see Hugh Jackman carryng off the lead, I couldn't see Russell Crowe as Javert and I was worried about the whole thing not staying true to the story.
If you are planning to go see it - worry not! It was amazing. OK so the actors were actors singing and though their voices were good they were not like the performers in the West End. But they were not trying to be. They were actors singing as part of their acting and it worked well. What is remarkable is that they sand live to camera, not dubbed after, and they were in close up - and I mean big close up - most of the time. The stage show and the film are two very different experiences, but each enjoyable in their own right.
There were some pointless extra bits int he film but also some very very touching extra bits (I won't spoil it) and the images were strong and compelling. My overall 'award' goes to Ann Hathaway who I thought was absolutely breath=taking in her performance.
It was a great film and, considering that we go to the cinema maybe once a year or once in 18 months, a real treat for us.
Back to a full on working week and so no new scrapping made today obviously (there may be some digi later if I finish my work) but I have things I made a while ago.
This was made with a new mini kit by Charliez Creations at Pickleberrypop called Frosted Gold.
One of my greatest saddnesses, apart from just not having them here any longer, is that I lost Mommy and Daddy before I was a scrapper and so have way too few photos of them.
Today I am thankful for
- challenges to overcome
- good weight loss
- a great night out
Dorothy thanks for your comment - I am not sure how you 'follow' me I am afraid but will try and find out.
I have a lovely e mail from cousin Joyce to share today - no idea if it is true or not - but I like to think it is and I love it. I hope you enjoy it too.

We don't know who replied, but there is a beautiful soul working in the dead letter office.

Big Les Mis fan here, too! :-)
I have the dvd to the concert version (oh to have been able to see it live!), have the movie on dvd with Liam Neeson (Steve's favorite--of course, because there is no singing!), have seen a traveling Broadway troupe perform live in Minneapolis, and now this movie musical. I LOVED it! Even Steve said it was "good" (which is high praise from him). I'm afraid Russell Crowe just didn't do it for me, but all the others were powerful, emotional, and convincing. Can't wait for it to come out on dvd now :-D
Were the Golden Globes broadcast where you live? Les Mis did very well :-) Can't wait to see how it does with the Oscars next month.

Going to see Les Mis tonight and can't wait! (love Hugh Jackman...) and have heard such good things about it. By the way, that letter to God really touched me, don't know where you get all these lovely letters and quotes? but I always read them even if I don't often leave a comment - thanks.
