The snow is disappearing fast and although it is freeezing cold everywhere is driveable, though our close and drive were a bit interesting.
We may not have gone out so early but we had to go to the vets for an update on Fiki.
We now know his weight issue is not thyroid - he is just fat! He overeats. He is his Mommy's boy. Seems weight issues run int he family.
He now has to try ad reduce his calorie intake significantly and we do that with a carefully controlled diet. Sounds simple doesn't it!
Well it would be if we didn't also have Kira who is allergic to pretty much everything. The vet gave us some low calorie food but Oh my - it is expensive and I can't affors £15 a week just for Fiki's food, let alone an allergic cat (kira) and a fussy cat (Boo) so we have bought what we hope is food will suit both, have bough fresh chicken and will make him eat his meal in one go and not graze - which he does now.
Wish us luck - the aim is for him to loose at least a pound before we go in a month's time.
Garage clearing continued well today too and we took a load of stuff to the tip. I would rather not have seen a work colleague as I was handing over a gun - but such is life! A gun you ask. It was my Dad's old air rifle which we had had buried away int he garage for about 25 years and which was rusted to pieces. It just didn't look good!
I have also scrapped and this is a page from yesterday of me lobbing a snowball at Nigel and was made for the weekly challenge on UKS.
I also have another Pickle Barrel page to share today.
This time it is a page using Amber Shaw's wonderful goodies which you can snap up now really cheaply.
The model - Emily of course.
- the snow not being lethally slippery today
- Fiki not being ill just fat - I hope we can manage it
- light at the end of the garage tunnel.

All the best with the fiki dieting, I found that almost impossible to accomplish, but at least Fiki doesn't go out so can't scavenge for neighbours.

Hi Karen & Nigel,
The snow looks like so much fun I wish I was there to throw snow balls too! Here in FL it has beenin the 80's most of January and I really miss the change of seasons. Seems like we have none. I enjoy catching up with you both on your site. Good luck on the kitty diet. I'm trying to lose those extra holiday pounds myself.
Hugs from sunny FL - Mike

Good luck to Fiki. I hope he looses all the weight he needs to. I can't seem to lose anything--just gain, gain, gain. :-( The weight thing is very trying.
I love snow layouts. Seems like blue is a favorite color to use with them, and I love blue :-)

Hi Karen, Another burger joke for you, I heard this on the radio.
A man went into the Tesco cafe and asked for a burger. The assistant said "would you like anything on that sir", he said "Yes, £5 each way" Ha Ha!!
Enjoy the snow, be safe. Val x
