It has been absolutely glorious here today.
The forecast was for fabulous Autumn weather and it was right - amazingly good. And so we had planned a day out.
We headed off to Arne Nature Reserve in the hope of not only a good walk but also the chance to see some deer and hopefully a stag. We have seent he deer there many times but never a stag.
The light was amazing and although in some parts it was very muddy (especially when Nigel went into apatch of what looked more like quicksand or quick mud) it was a perfect day.
We first came upon a group of females and we watched them for ages.
Most of the large herd were way off in the distance on the marshy area right by the harbour.
We tried a couple of times to get closer but it was too boggy.
However the reflections in the ponds were absolutely terrific. It was like a deep blue mirror reflecting the bare branches, the autumn colours and the dry bracken. Stunning.
There are quite a few as it was stunning and they don't really capture it as I wanted but it still looked nice.
and then Nigel found a drier way through towards the fens where the main herd were and where we knew there were likely to be stags. We stood and watched them for ages.
Magical morning.
And before I sat down to do all of my school work for the day I made this - I make no apology for the title - it was Nigel's idea!
So today has been a wonderful day and set us both up ready for another hard week ahead.
I have two pictures of the day today - because I can!
- all of the people in the armed forces who protect us all
- Autumn wonder
- Amazing wildlife right on our doorstep
Have a fabulous week everyone x

Breath-taking photos. Nothing like a perfect day for nature and wildlife. Congratulations on capturing such clear photos!
We also celebrate our veterans this weekend. So much for which to appreciate our military--especially after having a successful election this past week. :-)
Have a great work week!
